Who am I?

that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you[b] in Christ Jesus. (Philemon 1:6 NKJV)

In my life group, we have been discussing what faith is and exploring how important it is for us to know who we are in Christ. It has continued me on an amazing journey of revelation and knowledge in Jesus. A journey that will never end.

Let me keep this short. How important is it? Extremely important. What you believe directs every one of your decisions, believer in Jesus or not. So who you believe you are in Christ and in turn Christ in you is not only important but critical to the direction that you take in your life. But I want to focus just quickly on how it translates into the effectiveness of you sharing Jesus with others.

that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you[b] in Christ Jesus.

Paul clearly points out in this scripture that your faith becomes effective when you acknowledge (definition of acknowledge; 1. admit something, 2. show awareness of something 3. show appreciation of something 4. recognize somebody or something legally (my favourite) 5. thank somebody officially( also a favourite)) all the good things which are in you in Christ Jesus.

So my challenge to you if you want to be effective at sharing your faith is to find out who Jesus is and in turn, who you are in Him. It will firmly set you in to the Rock. No more maybes, no more ‘if’s’ or ‘but’s’, just pure identification with Jesus. Your faith in Him will become contagious to others, believers and non-believers.

How do you do this? Search through your Bible from Acts to Revelation looking for any sentence that contains ‘in Christ’, ‘In Him’ or ‘in you’. You will be surprised how often it comes up.
